World Championships

The World Universities Debating Championships were founded by Clark McGinn of the University of Glasgow (and now ESU Centre Committee) in 1981.

The World Schools Debating Championships were founded by Christopher Erskine of Australia in 1988. The English-Speaking Union hosted them in London in 1999.
